I am sharing some resources that could be helpful if you are feeling sad, scared, alone, depressed, overwhelmed – whatever you are feeling, you do not have to go through it alone. These resources are geared towards teenagers but could be helpful to folks of any age.
- Resolve Crisis Resources: Call 412-864-5065 or 1-888-796-8226. This 24/7 free service is for anyone feeling overwhelmed. They have a Child and Adolescent Crisis Intervention Services team available.
- Wide Open Schools: Explore this collection of resources designed to make at home learning an ‘inspiring experience’. Find everything from how to set up a schedule to virtual field trips and, most importantly, ways to support emotional well-being.
- Disaster Distress Hotline: Call 1-800-985-5990 or text TalkWithUs to 66746. This 24/7 national hotline provides immediate crisis counseling for people experiencing emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster.
- National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: Call 1-800-273-8255. This 24/7 national network of local crisis centers provides free, confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress.
- RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network): Call 1-800-656-4673. Access the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization by calling or using the chat feature on their website.
- National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): Call 1-800-950-6264. This helpline is open Monday-Friday from 10 am–6 pm, Eastern. or by e-mailing info@nami.org .
