JPMorganChase and CLP: Literacy Takes Many Forms

The mission of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is “to foster literacy, enable exploration, and create connections with all our neighbors.”

That word – literacy – takes many forms in our patrons lives. That is something that our friends and Summer Reading 2024 Sponsor JPMorganChase take to heart when it comes to the Pittsburgh community.

“JPMorganChase has been a long-standing supporter of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and shares in its commitment to education and community access,” said Andrew McEvoy, Executive Director of Middle Market Healthcare Services at J.P. Morgan Commercial Banking.“ The Summer Reading program empowers children through knowledge, promotes literacy of all types and prepares students heading back to school. This year’s engagement was impressive!”

Impressive indeed! Over the 64 days of the 2024 Summer Reading program, more than 67,000 books were logged. That is awesome!

JPMorganChase has been a Summer Reading sponsor since 2018, and this year, they chose to sponsor the Greater Pittsburgh Festival of Books, as well.

“The support by JPMorganChase through sponsorship of a summer of literacy is a testament to the vibrancy and reach of their corporate philanthropic efforts,” said Andrew Medlar, President and Director of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. “Their partnership has been a pillar in our efforts to extend our reach in the community this summer.”

To help increase financial literacy in our community, JPMorganChase is holding a Financial Literacy Seminar at Hosanna House (807 Wallace Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15221) on Saturday, November 16.
