This Teen Time program will help teens learn about the influential Black artist Jean Michel Basquiat and his important legacy of social commentary through artistic expression. For teens in grades 6-12. This event is part of our Black History Month 2025 programming.

Children will learn about the quilters and quilts of Gee’s Bend, Alabama and create a quilt collage out of paper in their style.  For kids in grades K-5. This event is part of our Black History Month 2025 programming.

Teen Time: Make Your Own Trading Cards

This Teen Time program will teach teens about the history of the trading card and its importance in the Negro League. It will also help teens to learn to explore mixed media applications in creating art.  For teens in grades 6-12. This event is part of our Black History Month 2025 programming.  

Kids Club: Taking Flight – African Americans in Aviation

CLP - Knoxville 400 Brownsville Rd, Pittsburgh, PA, United States

This program will focus on three history makers: Bessie Coleman, David E. Harris and Guion Bluford. All are African Americans who played a significant role in aviation and aerospace history.  For kids in grades K-5. This event is part of our Black History Month 2025 programming.

Kids will learn about Pittsburgh native and fashion icon Billy Porter. They will design a miniature version of a red carpet look for a paper doll, representing their own interests in a creative way.  For kids in grades K-5. This event is part of our Black History Month 2025 programming.
