Pittsburgh Readers are going for the gold! Summer Reading is in full swing, and we are celebrating the strides made by all of our readers so far. 20 teams are battling it out for the glory of being the location to read the most books this summer.
At the end of the day, we know each and every participant is the real winner. The importance of keeping kids reading during the summer has never been greater. Every word read, every page turned, every book logged – it all adds up to amazing gains in our community.
Our Summer Reading program’s success relies on the support of partners like our Presenting Sponsor EQT.
“From EQT Foundation’s years of partnership with Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and the Summer Reading program, two things are abundantly clear: Pittsburgh loves their library and Pittsburghers are avid readers,” said Ellen Rossi, President of the EQT Foundation. “It’s wonderful to see so many engaged children and families over the summer months in programs across the library’s footprint and their commitment to make reading and learning a life-long process.”
The partnership with EQT provides things like programming, giveaways, prizes, events, and so much more during the two months of the Summer Reading program.
“We owe a great deal of thanks to the EQT Foundation. Their steadfast support over the past decades has been a pillar of the program and has helped to bolster Summer Reading throughout our community,” said Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh President and Director Andrew Medlar.
