As a lifelong Pittsburgher and Library supporter, Carol Robinson has seen how lives are impacted by Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
“One of the reasons I became involved with the Library is that it provides direct assistance to people in ways that are transformational and potentially life-changing,” she says. “The Library is supported by community tax dollars and philanthropy, and in turn, it creates tremendous value and impact with those investments.”
To ensure that she can provide support for our community far into the future, Carol included the Library as a beneficiary of her individual retirement account (IRA). This gift will support the Library’s endowment.
“I’m passionate about everything the Library does,” Carol says. “And everything the Library does prepares individuals to thrive in their jobs and lives.”
Over the past few years, Carol has seen the Library become a key resource in connecting job seekers with the tools they need throughout their careers. She notes that the biggest evolution for job seekers in the last decade has been the use of the Internet. “We can’t anticipate how tech will change the ways people find work in the future,” she says. “However, the Library has people dedicated to keeping current on technology and anticipating those changes to benefit job seekers.”
Carol likes knowing that even when she’s no longer directly connected to the Library, her bequest will ensure that future generations will enjoy access to collections and resources that support individual achievement.
A bequest could be the most impactful gift you ever make. Join Carol in leaving a lasting tribute that will strengthen and protect the Library today, tomorrow and beyond. Please consider including Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh in your estate plan. Gifts at all levels are welcomed, appreciated and help strengthen our community.
