Celebration, Affinity, Identity & Recognition (CAIR) Months
Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is committed to honoring diverse cultures and heritages all year round.
We invite you to join us for the following monthly celebrations!
- Black History – February
- Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage – May
- Pride – June
- Disability Pride – July
- Hispanic Heritage – September 15 through October 15
In recognition of each month, CLP will celebrate different identities across our locations and online through programs, outreach, resources and opportunities for collaboration. Together, we can all engage in dialogue and grow our understanding of the issues that currently affect our communities.
The Library will add an additional celebration each calendar year. We are looking forward to adding Hispanic Heritage Month in fall 2025, Native American/Indigenous Peoples Month in November 2026 and Arab American Heritage Month in April 2027.
