This spring, you can explore the work of World-Renowned Pittsburgh Playwright August Wilson during a six-month, multimedia exhibit in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s August Wilson Archive! Curated by three high school students from University Prep Miliones, the exhibit represents students’ findings and interpretations of many of the items in the archive.
This year the exhibit will travel to three Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh branches. The traveling exhibit will begin in the Gallery @ Main in early April before moving to the neighborhood of Wilson’s childhood with a two-month display at CLP – Hill District beginning in June. The exhibit will wrap up in CLP – Hazelwood in late summer. Each branch will host associated programming including student curator and local playwright talks, interactive community activities, and more.
You can learn more about the August Wilson Archive here and check out plays and other books by and about August Wilson for audiences of all ages here.
Special thanks to August Wilson Outreach and Engagement Curator, Diael Thomas, for providing insight into the students work!
