Community Scan Day at Mt. Washington

January 18, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Scan of an historic picture of a Pittsburgh with a view across a river and the forming shapes of downtown buildings in the distant background.

Scan your old photographs, documents, slides, and more for free at Community Scan Days! Staff will teach you how to use a portable scanner to digitize your items at CLP locations. If you’d like to donate digital copies to CLP Digital Community Collection on Historic Pittsburgh, a staff member will walk you through the donation process.

The last half of the event will be reserved for drop-in sessions with a limit of 5 items. Appointments are 40 minutes long, with a limit of 10 items. You must bring your own storage for your scans, such as a flash drive or portable hard drive.

Acceptable items (no larger than 8.5” x 11.7”) include:

    • Print photographs
    • Hand-written and typed documents
    • Negatives and slides
