How can you turn your passion into power on issues that are important to you? The presidential race isn’t the only important race on your ballot. Whatever your issues – environment, healthcare, school and gun safety, fair housing, LGBTQ+ rights, racial justice, jobs and minimum wage, immigration, student debt, voting rights, open primaries, community police relations, or access for people with disabilities – you’ll find effective ways to address them at the state and local levels.
The first part of this League of Women Voters of Greater Pittsburgh hybrid presentation will explore the idea of how every citizen needs to be a “citizen activist”. We have nonpartisan information to help participants learn how to identify the government officials who can help.
The second part of the presentation will provide the most up-to-date 2024 Federal and State election information from our website and even more key facts about Elections in Pennsylvania. We will connect the dots… from your issues to government officials– and to the power of your vote to elect the officials in 2024 up and down the ballot whose decisions and actions affect your life and the direction of our country.
This program takes place in the Job & Career Education Center on the second floor of CLP-Main Library (Registration recommended) and virtually through Microsoft Teams (Registration required). The link to join the livestream will be sent in the RSVP confirmation email.
