Celebrate
Pride Month 2024
To Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Pride means: inclusion, intersectionality, radical joy and resistance through existence
Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh recognizes Pride month by celebrating LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual and more) individuals of all races, genders, classes, sexualities and identities.
Celebrating Pride Month in libraries is increasingly important with the continued rise in book challenges and bans that focus on restricting access to titles featuring queer characters and stories. In 2024, we want to celebrate joy, love, and solidarity while recognizing the oppression this community continues to face—especially for people with intersecting identities. We invite you to celebrate with us in person and online by exploring curated booklists, displays, events, resources, and more for library users of all ages.
