Library Lounge: Cultivating Creativity and Community

Accessing your creativity as an adult can be an exciting prospect – and it can also be overwhelming, intimidating or lonely. Where to start? What do you need? What if you’re not good at it?

If you’ve ever been slightly envious of the creative ways teens and children get to use the Library and would prefer to explore creative and fun activities with like-minded adults, Library Lounge is for you.

“What is Library Lounge?” you may ask. It is a recurring program with varying themes and activities where you can exercise your imagination while getting a nice boost to your social calendar and meeting new people in your community.

These programs are led by staff at each Library location and differ from location to location and from month to month in their location. For example, CLP – Mt. Washington hosted a Knit & Crochet themed Library Lounge on April 8th, and then a Movie Matinee on April 12th. You can find gaming happening at Library Lounge programs, or find resources to start a garden, or discover a new craft you’ve never done before

Have a suggestion? Come to a program and let us know. Don’t want to jump into the activity right away? That’s okay! Get to know Library staff and your neighbors and explore what the Library has to offer through Library Lounge.
