On January 15, 2021 Children’s Specialist Cheryl will present a Virtual Storytime called “More Than Meets the Eye.” I have always been a huge fan of Cheryl’s storytimes. Her storytelling and delivery are a wonderful blend of enthusiastic, soothing and curious.
Storytimes that break the thematic molds of farm animals and seasons are also a draw for me. Don’t get me wrong, I miss making cow noises over and over again in a live storytime. However, reinterpreting how books, rhymes and other storytime elements can blend into a less conventional theme is always inspiring to me.
When Cheryl told me her storytime would be about “More Than Meets the Eye,” I was hooked and wanted to find titles to share that fit into the theme.
In this list, two of the titles will be featured in Miss Cheryl’s storytime! Tune in on January 15 or after to find out which titles she shares!
And, since repetition is a foundation of early learning, you can borrow these titles to read again and again before or after the storytime. There are rich illustrations with opportunities to seek and find and stories where characters rethink their opinions, so re-reading can help uncover new meanings.
