June Virtual Program-alikes

There is a light at the end of the tunnel. It feels like we are finally emerging from a long, long winter and life is returning to some level of normality. Be that as it may, you might not be totally ready to venture out into large groups of people. We understand, and we’ve got you covered! Take a look at another series of virtual program-alikes to help you readjust at a slow and steady pace.

FOR YOUTH:

If you miss storytime, you should check out…

If you miss Let’s Play: Chess, you should check out…

The Queens Gambit Chess Club, where students will have the ability to play virtually against their peers and learn the skills and strategies necessary to become a chess master.

And a library resource recommendation…

As you work your way through all of the storytime videos above, make sure you log those books for Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s Summer Reading program. If you aren’t already registered, sign up here.

FOR ADULTS

If you miss author events, you should check out…

“Raising Antiracist Kids: Empowering the Next Generation of Changemakers,” a virtual discussion with Ibram X. Kendi and Derecka Purnell, as Kendi is set to release his first children’s title Antiracist Baby.
