We all get a little bit grumpy sometimes, right? Why not make it fun by harrumphing along with the internet’s favorite feline curmudgeon, Grumpy Cat? She’s not just a meme, she’s a celebrity, and we’ve got plenty of grouchy fun for you in the form of books and DVDs. There’s a whole world of grumpiness out there to explore.

Grumpy Cat is a minor obsession for me. I have a mug with her face on it, and a sticker on my library ID badge (in both cases, she’s wearing her classic frown). Perhaps counter-intuitively, it makes me smile. It also doesn’t hurt when children point to the sticker and say “kitty!” Yes, Grumpy’s sour puss attitude brightens people’s day. (That pun was 100% intended, but don’t tell Grumpy — She probably hates puns).

Did you know that Grumpy Cat makes appearances at conventions? She made such a sensation at New York Comic Con last year that a book signing had to be cancelled. Were you aware that she has her own Christmas special? She even has a book of life advice, loaded with such gems as “Strangers are just enemies you haven’t met yet” and “You can never go home again. Because I changed the locks.”

She has quite a few books, actually, including graphic novels and a picture book called The Little Grumpy Cat That Wouldn’t. There’s something for grumps of all ages. Why not introduce your little ones to the world’s most adorable scowl? They have to learn the word “no” sometime.
