Sharing Pittsburgh’s history through the stories of our friends and neighbors!

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh would love to collect your stories and memories of Pittsburgh.

Stories should ideally be between 2 and 5 minutes long and can be family folklore, immigration stories, funny memories of growing up in the ‘burgh or recollections about historic events.

Participants have the option to record their stories on video or audio through the YinzStory kit. The stories will be shared online through a virtual map that will allow all of our community members to learn about life in Pittsburgh through the stories of our friends and neighbors.

The kit should be requested 3 to 5 days before an event and can be picked up at any Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh location. Currently only one kit is available.
