Cat Tale
Three adventurous and inquisitive cats named Lillian, Tilly, and William J. have an exciting afternoon playing together.
Michael Hall is a master of creating silly, funny, or outright ridiculous picture books for the preschool to grade 2 audience. In this sequel to his popular Red: A Crayon’s Story, Hall breaks the fourth wall, talking directly to the reader letting the crayons and the No. 2 pencil tell the story of the cancelled story in direct conversation with the reader. With rich color paper-cut and crayon illustrations, Frankencrayon is another comedic tale, sure to let the giggles outs.
While attempting to tell another crayon story, a scribble makes an unexpected appearance. Green, Orange and Purple were dressed in their costumes and ready to make their dramatic entrance as Frankencrayon, when the lights go out. With the lights back on, the crayons see that a scribble has made a horrendous mess. What can they do, the scribble is out of control? “A scribble can ruin a picture book!” says Teal. Will Frankencrayon get his story told? Curl up on a couch with a few children and read Frankencrayon by Michael Hall or any of his other amazingly silly books.

If the crayons cannot stop the scribble monster, this picture book and the play “Frankencrayon” may have to be canceled.
A carpenter ant drills a hole to see what is outside his stump, worrying his fellow ants, and when new holes reveal different colors they fabricate a story about the horrible beast that will soon attack. Pages have holes through which different parts of the illustrations can be seen.
Depicts in rhyming text how love can be many different things, such as eager as a beaver, steady as a yak, or silly as a seal.
Red’s factory-applied label clearly says that he is red, but despite the best efforts of his teacher, fellow crayons and art supplies, and family members, he cannot seem to do anything right until a new friend offers a fresh perspective.
