    The Encyclopedia of Arkansas is a free, authoritative source of information about the rich history, geography, and culture of Arkansas. It is a project of the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies at the Central Arkansas Library System.
  • Georgia: The New Georgia Encyclopedia
    The New Georgia Encyclopedia is an authoritative source on the people, places, events, and institutions of Georgia. The site contains nearly 2,000 articles and more than 5,000 images and audio and video clips on the history, culture, and life of the state. From the Georgia Humanities Council and the University of Georgia Press.
  • Iowa Public Television
    IPTV offers online videos of some of their local television programs such as The Iowa State Fair, Best of the Midwest, Best of Iowa. Good for traveling.
  • Kansas: Kansapedia
    This online encyclopedia of Kansas history comes from the Kansas Historical Society. Browse by people, place, theme, and race and ethnicity.
  • Nebraska Studies
    Nebraskastudies.org is a resource for teacher, students and adults interested in Nebraska, its history, geography, culture and people. It features lesson plans, video, and primary source historical documents.
  • Ohio Historical Society
    Includes various online exhibits, a guide to historical places maintained by the society, and their scholarly journal, Ohio History.
  • Oklahoma Historical Society: Encyclopedia of Oklahoma History & Culture
    The Encyclopedia contains articles written by leading scholars in the field and is published by the Oklahoma Historical Society.

    Oklahoma State University has made the past 50 years of Oklahoma Today magazine available online.

  • Tennessee Encyclopedia of History and Culture
    The on-line edition of the Tennessee Encyclopedia of History and Culture is a joint project of the Tennessee Historical Society and the University of Tennessee Press. This fully searchable version of the print edition, originally published in 1998, contains over 1,500 entries. The online version has updates to existing entries, new entries, more than five hundred additional images, plus audio and video files.
