  • North Hills Art Center

    Located at Fifth and Shady Avenues, the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts provides year-round exhibitions of contemporary art, classes for all ages and sales of artists work.
  • Society for Contemporary Craft
    The Society provides a unique opportunity to view works by nationally known artists, learn about the creative process in their gallery and resource center, attend workshops on various arts and crafts, or to purchase quality contemporary craftworks in their store.
  • Sweetwater Center for the Arts
    Established in 1975 to provide opportunities to create and appreciate the arts through quality art education and experiences. Offers courses in painting, ceramics, drawing, crafts, and photography. Located northwest of Pittsburgh in Sewickley.
  • Touchstone Center for Crafts
    Offers ceramics, glass, painting, glass, metalsmithing, photography and fabrics classes at their center in Farmington, southeast of Pittsburgh in Fayette County.

  • Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture Outreach Programs for K-12
    Architecture Explorations at the Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture offers academic and extracurricular enrichment programs for students in kindergarten through high school. Their mission is to provide an architectural foundation for children and youth which imparts a knowledge and appreciation of the built environment, encourages creative expression and critical thought, and inspires civic responsibility.
  • Carnegie Mellon University School of Art
    Look under Academic Programs for their Pre-College Programs. The School of Art sponsors two pre-college programs for high school students: an academic year program which meets on Saturday mornings, and a six-week full-time summer program.
  • Carnegie Museum of Art

  • Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts

    Located in Philadelphia, PAFA is the first and oldest art school and museum in the United States.
  • University of Pennsylvania School of Design
    Formerly the Graduate School of Fine Arts, PennDesign is dedicated to improving the quality of life through the design and preservation of artworks, buildings, landscapes, cities, and regions. It includes programs in Architecture, City and Regional Planning, Fine Arts, Historic Preservation, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design.
