May and June 2013: Healthy Artists Movie Poster Exhibition

Healthy Artists Movie Poster Exhibition

Healthy Artists is a free-to-watch online documentary series in which Pittsburgh artists discuss their art, their lives, and their health care stories. Many artists don't have health insurance. The US is the only first world nation that doesn't provide universal health care to all its citizens.

Through a Sprout Fund Seed Award, Healthy Artists commissioned 16 top Pittsburgh artists and 5 exceptional student artists from the University of Pittsburgh to create a poster for our documentary series. A panel of judges from the Criterion Collection, Carnegie Museum of Art, Warhol Museum, Steeltown Film Factory, and MASS MoCA, selected their favorite three designs, including a top poster to officially represent our series.

This exhibition is about bringing together artists, college students, health care advocates, and the Pittsburgh community at large, to generate new ideas about the pursuit of justice in health care.
