When we receive your completed application, we will contact you by phone to discuss your service requests. In addition, we will send you catalogs of recorded books available for selection. You will also receive Talking Book Topics, a bimonthly publication announcing new recorded books.
Requests for braille service are forwarded to the Philadelphia Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, which provides braille service to all of Pennsylvania. Braille readers will receive the bimonthly publication Braille Book Review, which announces the newest braille books.
We arrange for the delivery of talking book equipment and include instruction on the use of each machine. Once equipment is on the way, we send a sample shipment of books as well as the latest issue of our newsletter. We also forward each magazine request to the producer of the recorded magazine; like print subscriptions, arrival of your first issue may take up to six weeks. Magazines need not be returned, but the loan period for recorded, large print, and braille books is one month. Described videos must be returned in one week. Repairs on our talking book equipment are free.
Please contact us to tailor our services to your needs and as your reading tastes change. We accept special requests in writing, over the phone, and in person. You may also send requests to us by fax at (412) 687-2442 and by e-mail at email@example.com. Our staff can search for books by subject, and we can send books upon request, by monthly shipments, or as replacements for those you return.
Although most of our readers receive services by mail, we invite you to visit the Regional Libraries. We are open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with a professional staff of librarians and assistants ready to help.
