World Kaleidoscope presents Jaya Mani

Sunday, August 25, 2013
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Smt. Jaya Mani began dancing at the age of 8 and has been instrumental in spreading India’s rich cultural heritage through dance. Her commitment to promoting the cause of art and culture has won her many awards and the title Natyakalavati (one who has mastered dance). Having taught for over 30 years, she is most loved and respected for her ability to inculcate dedication in her students: she is both in charge of dance classes at the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Penn Hills, and an adjunct professor at Slippery Rock University. With hard work, single-minded devotion and passion towards dance, Jaya Mani continues to inspire the youth, and her able guidance has brought forth many talents. Smt. Mani was officially recognized as the “Pride of India” by the Mayor of Pittsburgh in 1994.
