Mary Frances Cooper Appointed Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s 11th Director; Announcement follows comprehensive national search
December 13, 2011: Last evening, after an extensive national search, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s Board of Trustees unanimously and enthusiastically selected Mary Frances Cooper, MLS, a nationally recognized library leader, as the 11th Director in the 116-year history of the Library. She will assume her new post as President & Director on January 1, 2012.

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Board Meets, Hires new library director, approves budget, schedules public meetings
December 13, 2011: During its quarterly meeting on December 12, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s Board of Trustees approved the hiring of a new President and Director, approved the Library’s operating budget for 2012 and scheduled a series of community meetings related to its Community Engagement plan.

April 6, 2011: Starting Friday, April 15, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will extend services to the Strip District’s Pittsburgh Public Market, becoming a part of the public market’s “fresh and delicious combination” of local artisans, farmers and bakers.
