Carnegie Library opens poetry series
“Two of Pittsburgh’s acclaimed literary artists, Toi Derricotte and Vanessa German, will launch a new series of poetry readings at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh on Saturday.”
PITTSBURGH ACLU CELEBRATES BANNED BOOKS WEEK WITH FREADOM EVENT
The Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of the ACLU-PA teams up with Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and WESA 90.5 FM for its 19th annual “FREADom” event on Monday, September 22, at 7 pm at the Jewish Community Center, Squirrel Hill. This free public event celebrates the freedom to read and raises awareness about the problem of censorship. The event features local personalities and performances reading from their favorite banned or challenged works.
