Why STEM?

The U.S. currently faces a shortage of skilled workers in the science, engineering and technology sectors. In Pittsburgh, as in other regions in the country, the scientific and technological building blocks critical to our economic leadership are eroding. There is a great need in our workforce for people with strong STEM skills. By building a strong background in these areas, teens can stand out amongst their peers.
