  • St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral: Annual Greek Food Festival
    Second week in May. St. Nicholas Cathedral Community Center, 419 S. Dithridge St., Oakland (between Fifth and Forbes Ave. near the Carnegie Museums). One of the best food festivals in Pittsburgh: dolmades, spanokapita, tiropita, shish kebab, rice pilaf, and plenty of pastries for desert.
  • Silk Screen: Asian American Film Festival
    Currently a film festival in May, Silk Screen plans to develop into a week- or month-long celebration of Asian and Asian American cultures with events throughout the City of Pittsburgh.

    An annual event held on the week of July 4th Big Butler Fair
  • Doo Dah Days: Stephen Foster Music and Heritage Festival
    Doo Dah Days is an event that will celebrate the life and music of one the most influential song writers in America's history, while helping draw attention to the history of Pittsburgh B.C. (before Carnegie).
  • Horse Trading Days
    The Zelienople-Harmony Business Association celebrates annual Horse Trading Days Crafts & Music Festival in July.
  • Pittsburgh Blues Festival
    An annual event in July to benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
  • Fayette County Fair
    At the Fayette County Fairgrounds between Connellsville and Uniontown. Runs end of July to beginning of August.
  • Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta
    A boating and water sports festival held at the Point on ghe 4th of July.
  • Westmoreland Arts and Heritage Festival
    An annual summer celebration, the free Festival takes place at Twin Lakes Park in Greensburg (east of Pittsburgh), in July. Annual attendance is over 100,000 and the festival offers visual and live performing arts, traditional and fine crafts, cultural heritage activities, humanities, and ethnic foods.

  • Fort Armstrong Folk Festival
    A five day festival in August that celebrates art, music, food, history, and memories of Armstrong County; held in Kittanning.
  • Holy Trinity Greek Food Festival
    End of August, beginning of September. North Side of Pittsburgh
  • Regatta at Lake Arthur
    The Regatta at Lake Arthur is an annual 2 day event staged in the Lakeview area at Moraine State Park each August. Hiking, bicycling on the paved bike trail, paddling canoes and kayaks, and disc golf are just some of these activities.

    August and September
  • Three Rivers Storytelling Festival
    The Three Rivers Story Telling Festival began with one storyteller, some grass, a few trees and an enchanted audience. It's grown into a site at North Park- two tents with storytelling going concurrently, workshops, a storytelling store, and world class talent.

  • Bloomfield Little Italy Days
    3 days of live music & dance, food, games, contests, more food, kid stuff, sidewalk sales and more celebrating our Italian heritage. By the Bloomfield Business Association.
  • A Fair in the Park
    Started in 1969, A Fair in the Park is an annual contemporary craft festival, presented each September by The Craftsmen's Guild of Pittsburgh in Mellon Park, adjacent to The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.
  • Ligonier Highland Games
    Annual event in September. Join the gathering of the clans in the scenic Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania for three exciting days of dancing, piping, drumming, massed bands, heavy athletics, storytelling, harping, and much more!

    RADical Days is an annual event that takes place in September and October, celebrating the regional assets with free admission, musical and dance performances and family activities offered by arts and culture organizations, parks and recreation, and sports and regional attractions that are funded by the Allegheny Regional Asset District.
  • Steel City Big Pour

  • Confluence PumpkinFest
    PumpkinFest is held on the first weekend in October in the village of Confluence, Pennsylvania, in the Laurel Highlands, east of Pittsburgh.
  • Fineview Stepathon
    The Stepathon Challenge, first weekend of October, is a rugged 5-mile run and hike through Fineview, Pittsburgh's North Side hilltop neighborhood. Up and down huge stairways and hills, through the woods and along residential streets, the Challenge ends at the scenic Catoma Street overlook.
  • Fort Ligonier Days
    A very popular annual 3-day festival, commemorating the Battle of Fort Ligonier, a key engagement of the French and Indian War, October 12, 1758. In Ligonier, PA in the Laurel Highlands east of Pittsburgh.
  • Pittsburgh International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival
    The Pittsburgh International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (PILGFF) is an annual celebration of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered writers, directors, actors and their work. Each year in October, hundreds of movie-goers from Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and the surrounding areas are treated to ten days of high quality entertainment, including feature films, shorts, and videos from the hottest national and international LGBT filmmakers of our time.

  • Three Rivers Film Festival
    A yearly event of independent and foreign films put on by the Pittsburgh Filmmakers.
  • Light Up Night (Friday before Thanksgiving)
    Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership
    Light Up Night is the traditional launch of the holidays in Downtown Pittsburgh on the Friday before Thanksgiving. At the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership website you can check out the full schedule of activities including the traditional tree-lighting ceremony by the Mayor.

  • Lawrenceville Joy of Cookies Tour
    A shopping and cookie-tasting event that lets you explore Lawrenceville’s business district, first weekend in December.
  • Annual Smithfield Christmas Market
    Inspired by the German Christmas Markets, the Smithfield United Church of Christ Market features homemade candies and baked goods, handmade crafts, candles, Christmas bulbs, themed baskets, stollens, Christmas cards and a German-inspired lunch of soups, pork roast, kraut, wurst, potato pancakes, apple cider, and desserts. Wed, December 1st 2010 - Fri, December 3rd 2010, from 11am - 1:30pm.
  • Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership
    Downtown Pittsburgh - A Holiday Tradition With a New Twist
    A five-week holiday celebration that includes a special focus on three special Thursday evenings and Saturday activities including the free Dollar Bank shopping shuttle, free horse drawn carriage rides, strolling carolers and street performers.
  • Nationality Rooms Holiday Decorations
    Each year the Nationality Rooms in the Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittsburgh are decorated in the holiday tradition of each country from the middle of November until the middle of January. There is an open house on a Sunday at the beginning of December with performances of Holiday traditions, ethnic foods and crafts.
