Fee Description: Nonprofit organizations can request the Heart Resources, LLC Grant Services Guide, which includes a current description of services, list of deliverables, rate sheet and sample agreement.

An at-will or closed term contract with do-not-exceed amounts are available. We adhere to the ethical standards of the AFP and GPA prohibiting compensation based upon contingency fees (receiving a percentage of a grant, if awarded).

Immediate availability of services may vary due to scheduling of existing clients, type of funder, size of project and deadline.

Payment options include per diem rate (half-day/4 hours or full-day/8 hours), project rate and retainer rate.

Heart Resources, LLC is registered as a Professional Fundraising Counsel with the PA Department of State, Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations under the Solicitation of Funds for Charitable Purposes Act, and is authorized to provide fundraising services on behalf of not-for-profit agencies provided that written contracts have been filed with and approved by the Bureau. Allow a minimum of ten (10) business days for pre-approval of grant writing and consulting for any proposal soliciting grants from any PA corporation or foundation.

PA CONTRACT APPROVAL IS NOT REQUIRED FOR GOVERNMENT GRANT APPLICATIONS.

Heart Resources, LLC is a social mission-driven business dedicated to spreading wellness by offering project development, comprehensive grant services and publication that assist nonprofit organizations to solve challenging public health problems. Heart Resources, LLC is adept in developing multi-funder community-based public health projects. The average grant award for 20 past projects was more than $159,000.

Katherine F.H. Heart, GPC, M.Ed. is the lead consultant and a content expert in health promotion, program planning and proposal writing. Heart Resources, LLC was a Participating Organization in the "Developing Healthy People 2020" Consortium, providing input to the new health objectives for the nation, under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

Katherine has served as a 2012-13 SAMHSA Voice Awards Fellow. Heart Resources, LLC participates in Wellness Initiatives of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Comments:

Katherine F.H. Heart, GPC, M.Ed. has earned the Grant Professional Certified credential from the Grant Professional Certification Institute. She was selected as the first GPA Approved Trainer. She holds a masters degree in Health Promotion in Organizations from the University of Pittsburgh in 1984. She completed the semester course in Grant Proposal Writing and Fundraising at the Graduate School of Social Work and over 100 hours of advanced proposal writing, budgeting, and grant research with leading national trainers (The Grantsmanship Center Inc. Foundation Center of New York, and noted grants author Dr. Beverly Browning). Previous experience includes developing, marketing and managed fee-for-service health, fitness, mental health/victim services programs at Pittsburgh area nonprofits for 15 years. She created behavior management training publications as a Technical Writer and Product Development Manager at a psychology consulting firm for two years.

Katherine is a member of the Grant Professionals Association (GPA) and the Pitt Alumni Association and Pitt Varsity Letter Club.
