About LAMP/Library of Accessible Media for Pennsylvanians
Pennsylvania residents who are unable to read standard sized newsprint, unable to hold a book or turn pages, or who have a physically-based reading disability may be eligible for services through Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s LAMP/Library of Accessible Media for Pennsylvanians.
LAMP provides a wide range of lendable resources at not cost to qualified patrons. Our print and electronic collections include:
- Large print books
- Audio described DVDs
- Audio books and magazines with playback equipment
- Physical Braille books
It’s easy to start receiving books and other materials from LAMP:
- Complete an application. Contact us to mail you an application packet, or you can download and print a LAMP application:
LAMP Application - Have your application certified. We will need the signature of a doctor, nurse, teacher, caseworker or other competent authority to verify your eligibility before we process your application.
- Once certified, you can return your application in person, by mail, fax

LAMP/Library of Accessible Media for Pennsylvanians is a network library of the Library of Congress’ National Library Service. It is funded through the Office of Commonwealth Libraries and is administered through the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh at this location. LAMP serves print disabled Pennsylvanians across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, helping them to read for life!
