The Super Science @ Your Library program is for students in grades K-5. The programs will provide the students with hands-on experiments that will demonstrate the importance of science in their lives and encourage them to think critically and creatively. Programs will expand on the Pittsburgh Public Schools curriculum. It includes four sessions:
Albert Einstein said, "Science is exploring and exploring is fun." These interactive science sessions will contribute to and promote the social and emotional development of elementary students. The power of hands-on or "minds-on" science is the ability to engage and interest children, to help them learn and apply scientific concepts, and to make them better problem solvers in other core academic disciplines.
The sessions will include guest speakers from local organizations, who are experts in that particular field. Parents/guardians are welcome to attend and participate in the programs.
