Basic Proposal Writing

Targeted toward those individuals in the nonprofit sector who are new to the proposal writing process or those who want to polish their skills, this full-day course will enable attendees to learn:

• The basic components and format of a grant proposal submitted by a 501(c)3;
• What each component includes and the order they are written in;
• The process used to develop a project into a written grant request.

The speaker will be Teresa A. Gregory, CFRE, who is an Assistant Professor at Point Park University’s School of Business in the Sports, Arts & Entertainment Management Program. Additionally, she assists nonprofits in the region achieve their goals through her consulting firm, Pinnacle Fundraising Consultants, LLC. Ms. Gregory has a 25-year track-record as a high-level, results-oriented fundraiser with extensive experience in all aspects of development and nonprofit management. She has been a team leader on campaigns ranging from $200,000 to $40 million working for a wide variety of organizations, including major research universities, professional theatres, museums, as well as small grassroots groups. Ms. Gregory has served as an Adjunct Professor for the Master of Arts Management program at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz School of Public Policy. The International Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) has granted Teresa the status of a Certified Fundraising Consultant.

There is a $30 per person fee to attend this class. Payment is made at the door with either cash or a check made payable to Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. The fee includes a light continental breakfast. Space is limited and registration is required by calling the Foundation Center at 412-622-6277.
