A Film to Decrease Worldsuck: The Nerdfighters Documentary

Sunday, August 18, 2013
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

John Green fans! Nerdfighters! Wizard Wrockers! Join us for a screening of A Film to Decrease Worldsuck, a documentary in which self-proclaimed "Nerdfighters" explore what and who a Nerdfighter is, where Nerdfighters came from and what they do. Produced, directed and edited by Hannah Lindgren as her senior honors thesis, this film is comprised of convention footage gathered by two primary videographers as well as crowd-sourced interviews and video from dozens of Nerdfighters.

This event starts at 5PM and features loads of fun activities, including musical performances by Lauren Fairweather and Matt Maggiacomo and Tonks and the Aurors. There will be a trivia session after the film, with chances to win the film’s poster. The Pittsburgh Area Nerdfighters group will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Please contribute! Use #nerdfighterdocPGH on your photos, posts, and tweets.

All ages are welcome. This event will be held in the Carnegie Museum of Art Theater which is on the museum's lower level and is accessible from the parking lot.
