Public Relations Writing : A Boot Camp for Nonprofits

Monday, June 30, 2014
9:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Save time and bolster your "brand" recognition! Learn basic principles and techniques for creating compelling public relations writing to sell, persuade, inform and advocate! This session will concentrate on developing the essential news release and adapting it to the many communications needs of today's busy practitioner without reinventing the wheel! From news releases to social media, learn how to succinctly and successfully get your message across. This workshop is being offered in response to popular demand for more time to practice and perfect effective writing skills.

The speaker will be local consultant, Diane Wuycheck, whose capabilities are built upon four decades of corporate, nonprofit and agency experience in public and media relations. She has been an adjunct professor at Duquesne University and La Roche College, where she taught Public Relations Writing and other subjects. She focuses on media relations, public relations and marketing communications for her consulting clients -- more than 65 nonprofit organizations over the past 12 years. Writing projects cover the gamut: news releases, annual reports, web site and social media content, brochures, fundraising appeals and more!

The fee to attend this workshop is $20 per person, which includes a light continental breakfast, and can be paid at the door with either cash or a check made payable to Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. Space is limited and registration is required by calling the Nonprofit Resource Center at 412-622-6277.
