Format Conversion

Rewind Memories - Converts tapes, photos, yearbooks, film,and audio.

Video Masters of Pittsburgh - Transfer home movies, slides, photos and videos to DVD.

Pgh Pictures - Transfer photos, video tape, film, slides and negatives to digital formats.

Preservation Technologies - Built specifically to meet the needs of clients with complex audiovisual collections, has a broad collection of analog playback equipment.

VCDS - Video, 16mm film, and 35mm slides digitizing and duplication.

Imagine Audio + Media - Formats include: video tape, 78, 33 1/3 and 45 rpm phonograph records, 1/4" reel to reel tape, 8 track, audio cassette, and microcassette.

Pittsburgh Tech Geek - VHS to DVDs. - 8mm, Super 8 & 16mm film transfers directly to hard drive, DVD & Blu-ray.

Treelady Studios - Transfers 8-track cassette, 4-track cassette, 6-track cassette, vinyl LPs, 78ís, DATs, ADATs, micro disc, plus other rare formats.

Listening & Viewing

Offers listening and viewing stations for limited use.

Listening Stations
First-come, first-serve. If there are people waiting the time limit is 30 minutes.
Available Equipment:

Viewing Station
First-come, first-serve. Stand-up station only. Time limit is 20 minutes.
Available Equipment:
TV/DVD/VCR Combo unit

All CLP locations also have PCs equipped with DVD and CD playback software. PC time limits vary by location.

Slide viewers (light tables, not projectors)


Stark Media Services - University of Pittsburgh, Hillman Library
AV collection and equipment open to anyone. Circulation is limited to University of Pittsburgh faculty, staff, and students. The public is welcome to bring in their own items for listening and viewing.
