Our Book a Librarian service allows you to spend up to one hour with a professional librarian or other qualified staff member who can offer personalized assistance.

We offer appointments in the following areas:

  • Device assistance (e.g. eReaders, MP3 players)
  • Finding a great book for adults, teens, children or your book club
  • Genealogy
  • Grant-Seeking
  • Introduction to the Library
  • Job-Seeking assistance
  • Patent searching
  • Personal finance and business resources
  • Research guidance for adults, teens or children

Some things we are not able to help with (but we can lead you to helpful resources):

  • Appraisals of art, coins, or other collectibles
  • Medical, legal, business or investment advice or opinion
  • Online purchasing that requires credit card information
  • Proctoring
  • Proofreading, typing and word processing
  • Technical support or troubleshooting that is not related to library resources
  • Tutoring (but please visit our Live Homework Help service for assistance)
