Community Committee Members
Furthering its commitment to provide a transparent dialogue with library users and community stakeholders, the Library's Board of Trustees has identified community members to serve one-year appointments on board committees. Representing a cross-section of neighborhoods, these committee members will help the board better engage the community in the decision-making and work of the Library, provide an ongoing dialogue with the community and increase diversity on the committees.

Joan L. Gulley
Joan L. Gulley leads the marketing function for PNC including advertising, market research, competitive intelligence, and brand management. She is also responsible for all product and segment management within consumer banking including deposit, lending, and investment products, as well as investment strategy and for full-service brokerage services through Hilliard Lyons Inc., a member of NASD and NYSE.
Joan holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Rochester where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Additionally, she attended the Advanced Management Program sponsored by Harvard Business School.
Michael S. Jasper (Hill District)
Vice President and Senior Finance Manager, PNC Financial Services
Michael S. Jasper's career spans more than 17 years as a business leader, entrepreneur and community advocate. In his current role as Vice President and Senior Finance Manager in the Corporate Performance Measurement group within Finance at PNC Financial Services group, Michael leads a team which focuses on competitive analysis and market based sales reporting. Prior to his appointment with PNC, Michael served as founder and Managing Partner of The Jasper Group, LLC., a company focused on bringing growth, evaluation and business sustaining strategies to new and small businesses and potential investors.
In addition to serving on the board of The Hill House Association (Audit Committee Chair) and Every Child, Inc. (Finance Committee Chair), he serves as a youth track & field coach for the Future Stars. He possesses a BA in Sociology and a Master's in Business Administration, both from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
Andrew Lang (South Side)
Architect, Development Manager at Oxford Development
Andrew Lang, Director of Development Services for Oxford Development Company, is a registered architect in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. With 21 years of experience in the construction and real estate industry, Mr. Lang specializes in real estate development, including zoning studies, programming, planning, financial analysis, and design, for new construction and renovation of buildings. He has been involved with numerous large scale projects including the preliminary development scheme and pro-forma for Three PNC Plaza, a $170 million, 23-story, 780,000 SF, mixed-use building, featuring a hotel, luxury condominiums, and class "A" office space. He has also provided studies for several institutional clients including a master plan feasibility analysis for the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) where he presented an examination of capital projects up through 2014 in excess of $100 million, comprised of 21 separate components, and including 5 distinct scenarios. Mr. Lang has extensive experience in the performance of Property Condition Assessments and Reserve Term Analysis of multi-family residential, office, retail, institutional, and industrial facilities. He has worked for Environmental Management Group (EMG), LandAmerica/National Assessment Corporation (LA/NAC), IKM Architects, and as an independent consultant/architect. Mr. Lang holds a Bachelor's degree from The Johns Hopkins University and a Masters in Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University.
Rick E. Pierchalski (Mt. Washington)

Rick E. Pierchalski is Chairman of the Board and a founding partner of Medallion Wealth Management. Mr. Pierchalski started his career in the securities industry in 1975 with Butcher & Singer, now part of Wachovia Bank. In 1985, he founded Berkowitz, Pierchalski, Inc. with William Berkowitz. Mr. Pierchalski started the CUvest Division and worked with credit unions as well as Fraternal Insurance companies in implementing their fixed income portfolios. In 2000, Mr. Pierchalski and Paul Brahim developed Equity Capital Management's 401(k) retirement model which encompasses one-on-one participant advice, investment portfolio modeling and trustee fiduciary reviews. Mr. Pierchalski attended the University of Cincinnati, the Lessing Institute in Germany and the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. Principal licenses include General Securities, Limited Financial Operations, Municipal Fund and Municipal Securities.
Mr. Pierchalski is actively involved in various community and nonprofit organizations. He formerly served on Allegheny County's Regional Asset District Board and is a member of Pittsburgh's Urban Redevelopment Authority's Loan Review Committee.

Patricia L. Siger is Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer of the Greater Pittsburgh YMCA. She is also a nonprofit consultant specializing in fundraising, marketing and board development. As the former Executive Director of Family House and Chief Development Officer for Children's Hospital Foundation she has spent the last 20 years in the nonprofit sector.

Executive Director, Kelly Strayhorn Theater
Janera Solomon is the Executive Director of the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater: Community Performing Arts Center. Her experience spans arts programming and includes work on national and international events across the state of Pennsylvania. Janera is active in cultural planning and project management for organizations such as the National Museum for African American History and Culture, the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco and the African American Cultural Center of Greater Pittsburgh. She is a regular contributor to the Pittsburgh City Paper, holds an Advisory Board position at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and was awarded the 2011 MLK Diversity Award by the Coro Center for Civic Leadership.
Heather Benedict Terrell (Sewickley)

Heather Terrell is a lawyer with more than ten years' experience as a litigator at two of the country's premier law firms -- Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Morrison & Foerster -- and for Fortune 500 companies -- as the vice president in charge of commercial litigation for Starwood Hotels.
Currently, Heather is an author of five historical novels published with Random House and Harper Collins, as well as a new series launching in 2013. A graduate of Boston College and the Boston University School of Law, she lives in Sewickley with her family.
