If only buildings could talk! Built in 1908, CLP - South Side has been witness to many significant milestones in Pittsburgh history. Now, the grand building is getting a much-needed facelift.
While the majority of the construction work is taking place inside the building, commuters on East Carson Street have watched crews prepare the roof for slate installation and lay the foundation for improved street access. Over the past six months, the interior of the Library was reconfigured and updated to make room for the installation of an elevator and new air conditioning, heating and plumbing systems. Crews now face the task of getting the Library "customer - ready" for its public unveiling in late summer.
Watch the Library's website for opening day announcements, including a preview reception and community celebration.
>> While CLP - South Side is still months away from its Grand Reopening Celebration, planning is already underway.
